IT’S a concern that more young people in the county are being taken into care, placing pressure on social services staff.
But if the increase has occurred partly as a result of a more rigorous approach to identifying cases of neglect then that has to be a good thing.
Following the Bullfinch trial, which revealed horrific cases of child sexual exploitation, agencies including Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire County Council promised to work together to clamp down on abuse.
More investment may be required to tackle an increased workload.
