HOSPITAL staff will get in step for an unusual five-mile walk next month.

A 12-strong team of play specialists at the Oxford Children’s Hospital will take part in the It’s Not Just a Walk in the Park event on Sunday, October 5. They will tackle the route three-legged and will be among hundreds raising money for Oxford hospitals.

Play specialist Sam Mortlock said: “As play specialists, our job is to bring a smile to our young patients. Lots of the equipment we use is paid for through donations, so we are really looking forward to putting something back.”

The fundraising event has been organised by Oxford Radcliffe Hospital Charitable Funds, which supports fundraising efforts across the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The walk will begin at the John Radcliffe Hospital’s Tingewick Hall, at 10.30am before passing the Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic and Warneford hospitals. Participants will then return to the JR for refreshments. Entry costs £5 for adults with no charge for children taking part.
