A MAN has appeared in court charged with raping a woman in Headington over the weekend.
Catalin Horhota, 41, of no fixed abode, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court today where he was remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court on October 3.
He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on September 21 in South Park and on September 20 in Headington, one count of burglary in Morrell Avenue on September 18, one count of attempted rape in Headington on September 20, one count of rape at the same address on the same date and another count of exposure at Abingdon police station on September 22.
Prosecution solicitor Jane Davies told the court that Horhota is believed to have only recently arrived in the UK from Romania and he had to speak through the use of an interpreter.
