How I sympathise – and empathise – with Andrew Castle’s frustrated quest for a functioning public convenience in the city centre (September 11).
He may, however, be relieved to learn that he can, if necessary in future, take comfort from the existence of a gents’ toilet open until about 5pm on the shopping centre side of the third level of the multi-storey car park – not to mention, if he is interested numerous discreet nooks and crannies, I am told, in the area, and a bushy park or two.
I must confess that one of my more puerile fantasies consists of opening the Oxford Mail one day and discovering that a defendant accused of unauthorised urinations – indecent exposure – has requested that 3,129 other offences be taken into consideration.
