I would like to place on record how much it was appreciated the hard work and organisation that went into arranging the recent Heritage Days in Abingdon and also the World War One tribute.
It was a most enjoyable day – the shop which housed the World War One memories deserve special thanks.
I believe the 1,300 who left the town to fight would have been very proud. The displays in the Market Place and the various open buildings with their very informative information all added to a brillant day. The vigil and lights out commemoration on August 4 gave us all time to reflect on the war and the mark it left on Abingdon.
A good job done by everyone involved.
