FIVE arson attacks have taken place across Didcot.
Thames Valley Police, which released the information today, is appealing for information after hay bales were set alight last week.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to five separate incidents between 7.50pm on Wednesday, September 17 and 11.20pm the next day.
Three arsons took place in Washford Glen, Ladygrove Loop and Cow Lane.
Another two happened near the bridge off Hamble Road.
Council contractors had cut and baled the hay, which was awaiting removal.
Thames Valley Police arson reduction advisor Steve Baker said: “At this time of year councils and farmers across the Thames Valley are cutting and baling hay.
“Unfortunately this provides a ready target for individuals who are either experimenting with fire or who have criminal intent.
“This type of behaviour can have serious consequences, causing wide spread damage and putting people and property in danger.
“I would ask the public to report any suspicious activity to police, of if you know who is responsible for the arsons, contact us via 101.
”I also appreciate that contractors and farmers are very busy, but please try and remove any hay or grass once it has been bailed."
