HOW disappointing that the OxfordOxford festival has been called off.

There is plenty of space in South Park at the bottom of Headington Hill for hosting music and community events and the line-up for the three-day event looked quite lively.

Perhaps it is not surprising that ticket sales were sluggish after a surfeit of summer festivals.

We’ve had Cornbury, Wilderness, Truck the Big Feastival, Wood and the Riverside to name but a few.

And they all had the advantage of the chance of half-decent weather. Maybe late September’s a bit too chilly for some.
