A NEW sixth form programme has been launched to support teenagers.
Students visited the Ethnic Minority Business Service’s (EMBS) event at its centre in Barns Road, Cowley, on Thursday.
The training provider will offer the programme to those who did not achieve higher than Grade C at GCSE level.
Education training and employability manager Sadia Hussain said: “At the moment, young people aren’t aware of all the options they have. They will be learning skills that will equip them not just for future study but for employability.”
The free programme offers students aged 16 to 19 an alternative to sixth form and college education. The course covers English, Maths, IT and digital skills, and the Duke of Edinburgh award. Classes are held between 9.15am and 2.45pm, four days a week.
EMBS launched a similar initiative in Banbury last year, which was rated good by Ofsted.
