FRESH from his round-the-world tour, Pilot Officer Ted Little parachuted into the Carterton mayor’s Teddy bear’s picnic yesterday.
But no sooner had he landed at Alvescot Road recreation ground with the RAF Falcons, he was jetting off again for his latest assignment with RAF Brize Norton’s 99 Squadron.
The Teddy bear – named after mayor Lynn Little – is raising money and awareness for military charity SSAFA (Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Families Association) by visiting service personnel posted abroad.
More than 200 people attended the picnic, which raised £500 for the charity.
Mrs Little said: “He’s had his little bit of fun, but now he’s going back to work.”
