ALL 6,000 public places for the Oxford Half Marathon may have sold out, but there is still a chance to be able to run in the event.

Charity places are still available, including those for Oxfam and Helen and Douglas House, and prospective runners are encouraged to book quickly.

Race director Andrew Taylor said: “We have seen a flurry of entries over recent weeks, resulting in all 6,000 available places for the half marathon selling out, but those who have missed out still have another chance to sign up through our charity places. I would urge those wanting to take advantage of these final few places to act quickly to avoid disappointment as the remaining charity places will have become hot property now that general entries have sold out.”

Other charities including the Laureus for Good Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children, Macmillan and Cancer Research UK are sponsoring runners who want to take part in the race.
