Kauthar Silvera was sectioned under the Mental Health Act after she admitted knifing her mother Vittoria Baker, 52, at her Oxford flat two years ago.

An inquest yesterday heard the former sales rep was found in her room at the Ardenleigh Hospital in Erdington – just minutes after staff had seen her fit and well.

Kauthur, who studied psychology at university, moved from Birmingham to Oxford to live with her mother in March 2012.

The killer admitted the manslaughter of her mother on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Her barrister Paul Keleher told Oxford Crown Court at the time that Silvera was known to be a “danger to herself and possibly to her mother”.
And speaking after her detention in August last year, her brother Mohammed Silvera said that both women had been “let down” by social services and mental health officials.
After the case, Oxford Health NHS Trust, which runs Littlemore, said it carried out an internal investigation which concluded the killing was not predictable. But it said it had come up with recommendations and was implementing them.
