The executive committee of North Oxfordshire Conservatives will meet next month to decide how a candidate for the Banbury constituency will be selected.
Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry announced earlier this month that he would be stepping down at the next General Election after more than 30 years in Parliament.
His branch executive will meet on Wednesday, October 8, to agree an approach for selecting a new prospective parliamentary candidate.
A candidate is expected to be appointed by the end of the year.
