OXFORD MAIL YOUTH LEAGUE

A DEVASTATING first-half showing from Oxford City Nomads earned them a 5-2 home win over East Oxford United in the Under 11 Development League, writes PAUL LYON.

A Seb Gill brace, Leo Hughes penalty and goals from Josh Thacker and Evan Harris put the Nomads 5-0 up at half-time, before United replied through Ubdulwaheed Sherear and Ovais Fareed.

Cumnor Minors responded perfectly to last week’s heavy defeat to Crowmarsh Youth, by beating Bardwell 4-1 at home.

Will Durham struck twice alongside goals from Callum Barker and Joe Baker, while Xavier Carroll scored the visitors’ consolation.

Cholsey Bluebirds fought out a 2-2 draw at home to Abingdon Town.

They took the lead just before the break when Yannick Grogan pounced on a loose ball.

Toby Bucknall added a second for the Bluebirds, but Town fought back and levelled with two goals in the last ten minutes from Ben Lisemore and Jacob Thomson.

Aiden Bellis scored five goals for Crowmarsh Comets as they beat Summertown Spartans 8-2 in the Under 15 C League.

Further goals from Josh Burtenshaw (2) and Izaak Cave sealed the victory, with Dekoye Coker and Julius Carpenter replying for Spartans.

Chalgrove Cavaliers got their season off to a winning start with a 2-0 success at Kidlington Youth.

Tom Leighfield finished a Sam Drake pass to put the visitors ahead before completing the job in the second half by lobbing the stranded Kidlington goalkeeper.

A strong second-half performance earned Wheatley an 8-4 home win over Crowmarsh Tigers in the Under 14 C League, the hosts scoring four unanswered goals after the sides had been level at 4-4 at half-time.

Harry Cudd scored a hat-trick, with further goals coming from Connor Madden (2), William Hale, Jo Bowley and Alex Northover.

Aiden Ollovutle netted twice in reply for Crowmarsh alongside goals from Rio Burgoyne and Henry Sharples.

Florence Park Blue were impressive 6-0 winners at home to Oxford City in the Under 12 A League.

Callum Crook hit a hat-trick with Dylan Langley, Connor Barrett and Rio Samson also on target.
