An electrical fault caused fire crews to be called on Monday night.
A fire crew from The Slade, Headington, was called the corner of Bulwarks Lane and New Road at about 10.20pm. It is believed flooding caused a fault with an electric cable, causing loud bangs and sparks.
Firefighters cordoned off part of the lane and incident commander, crew manager Justin Marah, said electricians were called to fix the fault.
