Sir – After all these years I do not want to see buses trolling up Cornmarket again.
Oxford shopping centre is fragmented enough as it is with buses in The High, St Aldates and Queen Street.
Might I suggest that in order to possibly reduce the number of buses in the city and create a cross-city service from North Oxford to Headington, that the number 500 park-and-ride from Water Eaton, instead of turning round in Magdalen Street and going back to Water Eaton, continues via George Street and New Road, St Aldates and on to Headington.
Coming back it could either go the outward route or, with a few adjustments with the 400, go via Redbridge.
