A 22-year-old woman was assaulted in a chicken takeaway in Cowley Road.
The incident happened at about 1.45am on Saturday when a girl went into the shop, shouted at the victim then assaulted her.
The woman suffered a fractured hand, bruising and cuts which had to be treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
She has since been discharged.
The attacker is white, between 17 and 18, skinny, has pale skin and short ginger hair in a bob.
Police said she was wearing a white crop top and fitted jeans.
