A CONSULTATION on a proposed new timetable between Oxford and London Marylebone has been launched.
Trains will run from the planned Oxford Parkway station to the capital from September 2015 with a frequency of around every half an hour.
The Chiltern Railways-operated service will take around an hour to get to London Marylebone via Bicester.
Rob Brighouse, managing director at Chiltern Railways, said: “We are staunch believers of the contribution rail travel can make to economic growth and prosperity.
“This is the latest in a series of significant railway investments made by Chiltern Railways since the start of our franchise and will benefit thousands of commuters and businesses in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.”
Work on the £130m project began earlier this year and includes the construction of the new Oxford Parkway station at Water Eaton.
From spring 2016, the Marylebone service would run from Oxford Station.
