A CRAFTSWOMAN is taking people back to basics by teaching them how to make origami boxes.
Hannah Yeadon, 45, will hold two paper craft workshops at the Last Bookshop in Jericho.
They will also include lessons in how to make notebooks, cards, stationery sets and wrapping paper.
Canal Street resident Miss Yeadon used to teach the skills along with pottery on psychiatric wards at the Warneford Hospital in Headington and Littlemore Hospital for 12 years, before becoming a home-based pottery teacher a year ago.
She said: “There’s been a resurgence in craft as people are going back to basics.
“I think it’s because of the modern world, which can be very soulless with the takeover of technology and supermarkets.
“People can use origami boxes as gift boxes or for putting objects in them.”
The workshops are Saturday, September 27, and Saturday, October 18, from 10am to 11.30am. Tickets cost £10 per session, including materials.
