THE TOUR of Britain will pass through South Oxfordshire today.
Some of the world’s top cyclists, including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, are set to race through Wantage, Harwell, Blewbury, Wallingford and Watlington.
They will be accompanied by rolling road closures of up to 15 minutes and are expected to reach Wantage at about 1pm and Watlington by 2pm.
- Crowds gather in Wantage to cheer on the Tour of Britain this morning.
Harwell Parish Council chairman David Marsh said: “There has been quite a bit of talk about it on the village Facebook page and I will be out there myself taking pictures so I hope people will be out cheering the riders on.
“Just like the Tour De France showed off the beauty of Yorkshire, I hope this will show off how beautiful South Oxfordshire is.”
