BARTON is beginning to feel festive already as preparations get under way for a community Christmas panto.
And Cinderella and Rockerfella director Marion Bloice Smith is on the search for more people to take part.
The 63-year-old said: “It’s something to bring the community together and I don’t think it’s ever been done before.
“Barton has this huge sense of community but sometimes the different groups of people don’t have the opportunity to meet.”
The panto, a modern twist on the classic fairytale, sees rockstar Prince Charles leave his alternative lifestyle to find the girl of his dreams.
Mrs Bloice Smith, a drama and theatre teacher at Magdalen Road’s Pegasus Theatre, needs more young people to help behind the scenes, including costume design, lighting and sound.
To get involved visit Barton Neighbourhood Centre, in Underhill Circus, on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm.
