How patients’ personal data should be shared was debated in Oxford last night.
A public meeting at the Mathematical Institute in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter was chaired by Dame Fiona Caldicott, chairman of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and author of the Caldicott Report into the use of patient information. A proposed electronic system will allow the NHS, researchers and other organisations to use confidential information from patients’ medical records.
