Dunmore Primary School returned to Victorian times with a cast of 320 pupils starring in an old-time music hall in 1988. Among them were Catherine King, left, James Hathaway and Alison Sharp. Parents made costumes for their children and joined in the fun by wearing Victorian outfits – one father dressed as Queen Victoria.
Cleaners won a contract in 1990 to keep Abingdon Hospital spick and span. Cleaning work at the hospital was put out to tender to cut costs, but staff proved they could do better than any private firm.
Abingdon Drama Club took over the Unicorn Theatre in 1990 to stage Bonaventure, the story of a murderer who takes refuge in a convent. Pictured left to right are Jean Wakeford, Kate Hibbins and Keith Hales.
