A SCULPTURE made from 95,000 cable ties is on show at a new art exhibition.
Former Oxford Brookes fine art student Ruth Simons, who graduated last year, has returned to the university to exhibit her artwork.
Among the pieces on show at the university’s Glass Tank gallery is “Writhe” – her sculpture made from cable ties.
The New Hinskey resident said: “It is working with an inorganic material and finding all the forms it takes.”
Her work, on show at the Headington campus, has been picked by gallery curator Dr Joanna Walker for the exhibition which is entitled Order.
Ms Simons, pictured with her work, added: “The Curator’s Choice exhibition has given me an exciting opportunity to display my work in new contexts, and extend beyond the gallery setting into the courtyard and atrium.”
The exhibition runs until Friday, August 29.
