I appreciate the Oxford Youth Hostel’s decision to resist relocation, but they must understand that we need to expand the size of the Oxford Station, as the present structure is inadequate and must be replaced as soon as possible.

However, the council must propose a location and costs for an improved hostel that is in an attractive location, with the space and costs of building a hostel that is as large or larger than the present structure, and with green technologies like solar panels to offset their costs and retain an affordable and attractive structure. This can’t be stalled like the Westgate regeneration scheme.
