First World War poetry and songs will be recited in a ceremony at Charlbury Railway Station tomorrow from 6pm when train company First Great Western and volunteers hold a commemorative service to mark Monday’s 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the conflict.
The event will take place next to sixty yards of poppies planted by volunteers in May.
Among them are signs naming the battlefields that claimed the lives of more than 50 Charlbury soldiers.
