THE situation in Gaza is worsening. No matter what political views we hold, we must all be in agreement that the conflict is intolerable.
And it is Hassan Alhallaq’s story that brings home, quite literally, the horror of the war.
Most of us will never have to endure the tragedy of losing our family in such a violent way.
But Mr Alhallaq’s courage is testament to human spirit. He wants to return to Oxford to finish his studies, despite his family having been torn apart. We wish him all the best in his recovery and we are sure that the generosity of Oxford will help him.
