DAYS after Downton Abbey moved out of the county, a new American TV crew with a noble theme has moved in. But it could not be more different.
Cast and crew of ‘mockumentary’ The Royals, above, which stars British actress Elizabeth Hurley, descended on Woodstock to shoot scenes at Blenheim Palace this week.
The show features a fictional royal family based in London. It will be screened later this year on US cable network channel E!
One sequence was filmed in front of Blenheim Guest House and Tea Room in Park Street, which was transformed into a cheese shop for the show.
Manager Diane Maynard said: “We had a couple of people coming in to buy cheese and we had to tell them we don’t sell it.”
She added: “They wouldn’t tell us anything else about it.”
ITV’s Downton Abbey was filming at St Mary’s Church, Charlbury, on Monday.
