An inquest is being held after a 68-year-old man from the town died of an asbestos-related disease.
Kenneth Kerby, of Bath Street, Abingdon, died on Saturday after contracting mesothelioma.
The married former maintenance engineer was diagnosed with the disease in January last year.
Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter said yesterday that further inquiries are to be made into Mr Kerby’s “details of employment and exposure to asbestos”.
The inquest has been adjourned until September 25.
