In Oxford author Pam Nixon’s coming-of-age novel But I'll Remember This, Phyllida looks back at her teenage love affair with her English teacher’s husband Mike, an Oxford-educated miner’s son from South Wales.
It is billed on the front cover as a comedy, but the story is bittersweet. Nixon's elegantly ironic style, evoking 1950s provincial England, failed to attract an agent so But I’ll Remember This (£7.99) has become the sixth book from Oxfordshire writers’ co-operative 3Score Publishing.
