IN Victorian times the celebrated photographer Henry Taunt would take pictures of Oxford’s riverside using glass plates – and now some of the iconic images are available online.
During the 20th century there were major advances in film technology and now staff at Oxford University have started to gather footage of what the city looked like before the 1980s.
Some fascinating film sequences dating back to the Second World War have already emerged and we look forward to seeing displays of this previously untapped treasure trove.
