I RECENTLY wrote to this and other local newspapers across the country, explaining that an internet radio station would soon be running a programme broadcasting stories of those who served in the Royal Navy, and would love to meet up again with their old shipmates. ‘Let’s have your stories and who you are looking for’ I asked. You printed my plea and wow have I got some stories. Ships which will be mentioned will be HMS Ocean, the Shore Base HMS Collingwood, HMS Relentless and many more, with some lovely stories.
Thank you for printing my earlier letter. And if any readers missed the first one, who are you looking for? Which Royal Navy ships or shore establishments and when? And let’s have a story.
