FIREFIGHTERS were called to three incidents during strike action overnight.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union walked out between 11pm and 1am last night as part of their ongoing national dispute with the Government over pay and conditions.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service provided cover with a mixture of non-striking firefighters and on-call volunteers.
During the strike 17 of Oxfordshire’s 34 fire engines were available.
The brigade was called to a false alarm at Wantage Leisure Centre, a car fire in Wykham Lane in Broughton and a road traffic collision on the A34 between Botley and Hinksey where one person was trapped in a vehicle.
Firefighters will go on strike again for three hours at 11am today and another three hours at 11pm.
