A MAN who illegally immigrated to the UK and obtained a false passport to say he was Oxford-born failed in his claim that the justice system treated him unfairly.
Sukhdev Singh, of Alesworth Grove, Headington, slipped into Britain on his third attempt in 2004 and obtained the passport, despite in fact being an Indian national.
The 39-year-old then used it to bring his wife and son to the UK from India illegally in 2009.
In August 2010 fingerprints identified him as a failed asylum seeker who had disappeared in 2004.
In June 2012 he was found guilty in Oxford Crown Court of immigration offences, after having been deemed unfit to plead because he suffered mental health problems. He was sentenced to a community order with supervision for 12 months.
Singh applied for permission to appeal against the 2012 verdict at London’s Criminal Appeal Court.
But Mr Justice Hamblen and Judge Guy Boney QC yesterday threw the claims out.
