AN ARTIST has started a crowdfunding campaign to back her first exhibition in an Oxford arts venue.
Claire Duffy, of Witney, is staging a display themed around 12 birds that can be found across Britain, at the Old Fire Station in George Street.
And to fund the project she is seeking £510 through online donations on Kickstarter.
People who back Kickstarter projects are offered rewards in exchange for their pledges.
The 25-year-old said: “I wanted to create a series of bird screen prints which reflect the beauty and variety of birds that also inhabit this country from the garden bird to the rare and exotic.
“For my Avifauna exhibition I am making screen prints, cards, tote bags, tea towels and deckchairs.
“I have a love of print and soft furnishings and can't wait to combine the two in this exhibition.”
A former pupil of Wood Green School, Witney, she completed a foundation arts course at Oxford Brookes University and graduated in illustration from the University of the West of England.
Earlier this year, she was selected to join the Stepping Up young leaders’ programme which is run by the Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership trust to support emerging artists.
The exhibition is expected to run throughout October. For more information on the exhibition go to kickstarter.com and search for avifauna.
