Ambulance bosses have urged people to take care as the county prepares for a heatwave.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) urged people to avoid long periods in the sun from 11am to 3pm; to wear a hat, use suncream and drink at least two litres a day, avoiding alcohol and caffeine.
Those with medical conditions should take extra care and children and pets should not be left in vehicles, it said.
The Met Office yesterday warned of a heatwave in the “coming days”.
Operations director for SCAS Mark Ainsworth said: “Over the last few months SCAS has been seeing a steady increase in calls.
“Weather conditions do have an impact on the amount and type of calls that we receive and therefore we would like to encourage members of the public to follow our advice.”
