Cheney School, Oxford, will run the new primary school in Barton Park.
The county’s cabinet agreed the move at yesterday’s meeting at County Hall.
It comes as Oxford City Council hopes to build 900 homes on land west of Barton over the next few years, plus a new primary, with work starting next year.
Cheney School Academy Trust runs Cheney School and will also take over Bayards Hill Primary School from October.
