THE Church has finally voted for women bishops. The news should be greeted by cheers, but the question is more why did it take so long?
As with gay marriages, it seems to have taken an eternity for the Church to catch up with society.
But at least common sense prevailed.
And now Oxford could have one of the first female bishops in the country.
All eyes will be on the Diocese to see if the city places itself at the forefront of the modernisation.
