UNIVERSITY Parks were awash with a sea of pink yesterday as hundreds of women did their bit for Cancer Research.
There were countless touching stories from those taking part including 15-year-old Sarah Davis who was running in memory of her mum Catherine who died last year. She has raised a staggering £13,000 for Cancer Research UK.
While taking part for a serious cause, those who took part made it a fun event, donning fancy dress costumes and bright pink clothes and accessories.
They should all be incredibly proud of themselves for while it may only seem a small victory in the fight against cancer, it all starts somewhere and the estimated £350,000 raised will no doubt go a very long way.
