Organisers of a vintage motorbike auction at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock yesterday said they sold for record prices.
A rare 1931 Indian 1300, estimated to sell for up to £70,000, reached £90,000 by the time the gavel fell, making it the most expensive 1300 ever sold and the most expensive Indian bike ever sold in the United Kingdom.
A 1953 Mondial 125 Monoalbero estimated at £32,000-£36,000 went for almost double that price, with the final bid coming in at £60,000, a world record for that model.
Over 90 bikes, including BSAs and Ducatis, went under the hammer.
