I AM so happy that Bayards Hill School was open and not closed for the strike, as we all know it is in need of improvement and since the new Head has been appointed a fantastic job has been done.
We have had a brilliant sports day with all the children and proper competitive races which is what parents have always asked for as life is competitive and children have to cope with the negatives, as well as positives in life.
Those working parents will not have had to struggle looking for last-minute childcare and child minders could continue as normal.
The children needed to be in school to catch up where they are falling behind.
Every morning the head is in the playground, ready to talk to parents and children.
What a fantastic change we can see already, as the saying goes, better late than never. What is happening in the school should have happened a long time ago.
Well done to all those involved in Bayards Hill who are striving to make the school of a much better standard.
