KEEN reader Richard Bungay has a new challenge in his sights after his school received £150 worth of books.
WH Smith in Wantage donated them to his school, St James Primary in East Hanney, on Wednesday morning.
The books came via the WH Smith Trust, a registered educational charity that regularly donates books to schools.
Richard, 11, said: “My favourite book is Middle School by James Patterson because it includes getting through Year Seven and gives lots of tips and naughty behaviour, which obviously I don’t take. It is funny and it is like the pages turn themselves.”
Erin Royan, also 11, said her favourite book is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
She said: “I like this book because I like history, adventures and fantasy.
“This book merges all these together to create a thrilling and amazing book.”
Staff at the Wantage store nominated St James in the WH Smith Trust Schools Giveaway, which saw the firm donate £20,000 worth of books to more than 100 schools.
