BEN Blakeley has told a jury he should get the death sentence for killing his former girlfriend 17-year-old Jayden Parkinson.
He made the claim yesterday during questioning by prosecutor Richard Latham QC at Oxford Crown Court.
The former bin man has admitted causing the death of his teenage ex-girlfriend by grabbing her by the throat on December 3 last year.
Later, it is alleged, along with a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, he buried Jayden’s body in the grave of his uncle Alan Kennedy.
Mr Latham told Blakeley, who admits manslaughter and perverting the course of justice, but denies murder: “You just lie when it suits you, don’t you?”
The 22-year-old shouted back: “I have no reason to lie. I deserve a death sentence for what I done.”

Blakeley added that he sees the night he killed Jayden playing over and over again in his head like a “video”.
He said: “I’m responsible for all of this.
“It’s like a video in my head, that night is like a video in my head.
“And I see it, it doesn’t fade away, I just remember more f****** details.”
And when Mr Latham suggested he had cried “crocodile tears” throughout the trial, he accused the barrister of using “Derren Brown s***” to plant ideas in the juror’s heads.
He added: “I’m like a f****** woman now, I cry when somebody dies on EastEnders.”
The prosecutor also suggested to the defendant that he acted “as cool as a cucumber” while moving and hiding Jayden’s body.
Blakeley has confessed to using a large suitcase to move the 17-year-old’s body to a cemetery next to All Saints Church, Didcot, during the night of December 8.
Mr Latham suggested to Blakeley that he must have had to do “some dreadful things” to Jayden’s body to get it into the suitcase.
The defendant replied: “There was no way of doing what I needed to do nicely or respectfully.”
He added: “It was f****** horrible.”
Mr Latham said: “And you were capable of doing it, weren’t you? You had to ram her body into that suitcase.”
Blakeley replied: “Yes I did.”
The barrister added: “And you were as cool as a cucumber when the taxi driver turned up.”
Blakeley said: “I had to act normal.”
His co-defendant started giving evidence yesterday and described bringing Blakeley a change of clothes on the night he killed Jayden.
He said: “At first when I saw him I think he was crying and I asked him why.
“At first he didn’t want to tell me what was going on, but I persuaded him and he told me he had done something really bad.”
The youth denies preventing a lawful burial, claiming he did not know it was Jayden they were burying, but admits perverting the course of justice.
The trial continues.
