COUNCILS must provide any relevant information into a wide-ranging Government inquiry into the sexual abuse of children, Nicola Blackwood told Home Secretary Theresa May in the Commons.
The Oxford West and Abingdon Conservative MP welcomed the inquiry – in the wake of allegations of a Westminster paedophile ring – and said: “Transparency from local authorities will be essential to achieving a just and effective inquiry.”
The Home Secretary replied on Monday: “I intend the terms of reference for the panel of inquiry to be drawn quite widely, and they will therefore relate not just to central Government papers.”
