A 25-YEAR-OLD man was last night in hospital after being stabbed in the latest attack in the Cowley Road area of Oxford.
The man was hurt after he was called out of the Simpli Fresh store and attacked on Tuesday evening at about 9.10pm. HIs attacker then run off after a shop worker stepped in.
It is not known if the victim was a customer in the schop.
It comes after a man in his 20s also suffered a suspected stabbing injury in Divinity Road on Sunday evening after the Cowley Road Carnival.
Police yesterday said they believed the latest attack could have been planned and said they were investigating whether or not the incident was connected to Sunday’s.
But last night no arrests had been made in relation to either incident.
Investigating officer Det Insp John Turner, of Oxford CID, said: “We believe the victim was known to the offender and this may have been a targeted attack.
“Officers are conducting inquiries today and remain in the area to reassure members of the community. If anyone has any concerns or questions, please feel free to approach officers.
“I am appealing for witnesses who saw the incident to come forward to ensure we find the offender and bring him to justice. Violence like this will not be tolerated in our community.”
