POWER is being investigated in the latest exhibition at Modern Art Oxford.
The display at the Pembroke Street venue has been created by American conceptual artist Barbara Kruger.
Modern Art Oxford head of programme Sally Shaw said: “Barbara Kruger is very much an artist of our times.
“Her works are witty, clever and complex and almost the antithesis of the text message or tweet.”
Walls at the gallery have been covered in prints of large words, phrases and slogans.
The gallery said it is to simulate the techniques used in mass advertising.
Ms Kruger, who lives in New York and Los Angeles, is widely known for her works which often feature stand-out phrases which question subjects such as feminism and consumerism.
Her famous slogans include “I shop therefore I am,” and “your body is a battleground”.
Her work has appeared in museums and galleries across the world.
The exhibition will run until August 31. For more information, visit modernartoxford.org.uk
