A public consultation into whether Oxford Stadium should be given new protected status finished yesterday.
City council officers are looking into the possibility of making parts of the stadium a conservation area, giving it the same level of protection as historic parts of the city.
Campaigners hope the move would scupper plans by Galliard Homes to build 220 homes on the site, and rejuvenate speedway and greyhound racing there.
