COULD one of these young film-makers be the next Steven Spielberg?
Film Oxford is offering two free 10-week In the Frame courses for teenage directors. Ashtee Shaho, 19, of Cowley, has already signed up. He said: “I am excited about getting to know more about filming.
“I want to work in the film industry, in front of or behind the camera, it doesn’t matter.”
The courses are part-funded by Film Nation UK and the British Film Institute.
Jess Day, 16, from Rose Hill, Oxford, said: “The last BFI course opened my eyes to amazing opportunities in the film industry, and now I just want to be a scriptwriter.”
One course will run at Blackbird Leys Community Centre on Tuesdays from February 11 to April 15, from 11am to 5pm.
The other will be at Film Oxford’s HQ on Catherine Street, Oxford, on Thursdays from February 13 to April 17, 10am to 4pm.
Deadline to apply is Thursday. Apply at filmoxford.org/in-the-frame
