A BODY has been found in Wheatley.
The body of the man was found at the River Thame today at about 11.30am, police have revealed.
Thames Valley Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.
No further information about the cause of death has been released, or about the identity of the dead man.
Police have yet to reveal how the body was discovered.
Officers are at the scene of an incident.
Police were earlier this afternoon gathered by the river near the Asda in the village with sniffer dogs, and there are reports that several officers had been combing grass verges in the area.
Locals say that officers have been scouring the area for two days now.
Speaking earlier today, Jim Reilly, vice-chairman of Wheatley Parish Council, said no-one had said anything about what the search was for.
But he said it looked detailed and eight or nine police officers have been involved both today and yesterday in searching the local area.
Confirming their presence in the village today, he said: "They were out yesterday as well, doing a minute search of some land by the Great Milton turn-off. What it's about, I don't know. They were all along the Thame Road today searching land. Today there were probably eight or nine and yesterday about the same."
