An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital yesterday with head and shoulder injuries after a crash on the A34.
The collision between a lorry and a black Mazda happened at about 11.30am on the southbound carriageway between the Milton and Chilton interchanges. The road was blocked for more than an hour and caused delays.
The woman was freed from the car by the fire and rescue service before being taken by air ambulance to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
A man who was also in the car was taken to the hospital in a road ambulance but it was last night not known if he was injured.
