DR Michael Ward, author of bestsellers Planet Narnia and The Narnia Code, captivated his audience with a talk on popular Oxford author CS Lewis.

Dr Ward is a leading expert on CS Lewis and Senior Research Fellow at Blackfriars in Oxford.

Dr Ward gave his talk on Saturday at New Road Baptist Church, entitled Imagination, Reason, Will: A Perspective on the Legacy of CS Lewis.

Dr Ward said on his website: “In addition to my work at Oxford, and my various projects as a writer, I frequently give talks to schools, colleges, universities, churches, conferences, and literary societies.

“I've spoken and preached all round the world on Planet Narnia, CS Lewis, The Inklings, and theological imagination.”

As an Anglican clergyman, Dr Ward served as Chaplain of St Peter’s College at Oxford University from 2009 until last year and as Chaplain of Peterhouse at the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2007.

Between 1996 and 1999 he was Warden of The Kilns, Risinghurst, once the home of CS Lewis, who died one week before his 65th birthday in 1963.

Last month Trinity Church in Headington marked the 50th anniversary of CS Lewis’s death.
